Rose Gold Wedding. When Elegant meets Rustic!

I loved putting these wedding items together. Who doesn’t love Rose Gold? To make this all the more pleasing for me, the bride wanted  a rustic element tied in too.

She needed me to up-cycle various items she already had….. MY FAVOURITE thing to do 🙂 She wanted ‘different’ ALSO my favourite thing to do!

  1. Rose Gold glitter featured… incorporated into her table name-cards and table display. DONE!

2. Old cheap wooden frames, pine, made rustic with a grey appearance… DONE!

3. An old cream birdcage (somehow incorporated)- DONE!

The Altering.

The frames were plain pine wood. Altered by first staining with a dark woodstain, raising the grain with a wire brush,  painted grey and then sprayed white. A good sanding then revealed the dark stain and grey beaneath the white, only in certain areas of the frame.

The birdcage was sprayed first with copper metallic spray paint. Sanded and then a coat of metallic rose gold spray paint over the top. The rose gold spray on it’s own looked very pink. I pasted a cardboard base for it and stuck down some moss over the top. I added some votive candles, some GOOD silk flowers and a grey hessian bow.

The framed Thank you print was done with rose gold heat foil on to 300gsm card before putting in the frame to which I had hot glued some floral accents and some rose gold foiled leaves.

Hanging Table number- Hot foil number. Die cut detail. Hung from frame with curled rose gold wire. DIFFERENT!
